Maryland's top young CPAs pose in front of the CPA profession history chart after attending the "Orientation to the CPA Profession" class as part of the MACPA's Leadership Academy.
The class covers the history of the CPA profession and the organizations that set standards and regulations and influence the profession.
The Leadership Academy was developed by the Business Learning Institute after researching the competencies needed by today's young professionals. The AICPA competency model, Havard Business School Publishing, and other CPA and corporate universities were used to create the core curriculum.
Then, a survey of managing partners in CPA firms and young professionals was used to prioritize the top skills needed.
