I still remember this feature article from the then brand new FastCompany magazine by biz guru, Tom Peters. That was 1997! Speaking of branding, that magazine stood for a whole new business manifesto and that article stayed with me for over ten (10) years.
Fast forward to today and I came across another biz guru's post from Seth Godin and I think they are saying the same thing. Seth calls it "little scraps" - quick decisions based on little scraps of data. Things like your voice mail message, your facebook account (yes students many employers know to look here), your blog, clothes, attitude, etc. So pay attention to your "little scraps" and work on your brand so that your first impressions are memorable and distinct.
